If God is perfect then?

why did he create anything at all. The concept of perfect constitutes a complete system. What would compel God to seek disequilibrium in his perfect system by creating anything at all if he already has everything he requires and could possibly want?

Update:

Being all knowledgeable there would be no experience that could spark his emotions. Emotions incite in surprise. How can you excite he the all knowing...

Update 2:

Oren~ So God in a sense has been incomplete the since the eternity before us? God was not always perfect? An all knowing and all experienced would forever feel boredom if he is in our image. It say he shares our emotions. Why not impart such generosity amongst the trinity.

Update 3:

Being that God does thing because he can will he come to destroy us just to feel that sense of forlorn hope and anger. Just to exercise another emotion?

yea i don't know why else god would have created people if it wasn't just because he was bored. i guess you would have to ask him to know for sure, assuming he exists and would bother to answer.

i also don't see why god bothered to do some of the things the bible claimed he did and what's so compassionate about it. For example, god flooded the world to get rid of all the evil people, but saved a few so the process would just start over again. if you think about it, wouldn't it have been more compassionate not to leave any survivors? it would end all war, hunger, disease, poverty, conflict, hate, pain, and suffering in the world for eternity if everyone died. it's the only way there ever will be an end to most of the problems in the world.

also, since god punished a lot of people in the bible severely, doesn't that imply that he really does have some bit evil? he has malice, which righteous or not (usually not), does involve the desire to hurt people. if that's not evil, i don't know what is. god, at least the way he is often depicted in he bible, isn't perfect.

It is hard for us to understand that from within our ego.

We are built as the desire to receive so we cannot really understand how is it to be the ultimate giver.

God or the creator is the will to bestow. It doesn't need anything from anyone - complete and perfect. And as such it can only give and bestow. That is why the only thing it created is the will to receive which is the only thing that is not a part of him.

We are, as a part of this creation the will to receive and we are built to get exactly what the creator has to give us - receiving it will fill us with endless pleasure for all eternity.

In the past, the majority of people thought the world was flat. In the past, the majority of people thought the earth was the center of the universe and the sun revolved around the earth. In the future, people will come to realize that god is a man made idea that doesn't really exist. Until then, the concept of god will be riddled with inconsistencies and contradictions. Just do what most believers do when faced with the apparent fallacy of believing in a god, say to yourself, "god works in mysterious ways".

Firstly, perfection is relative in respect to the kind of beings who have or can have it. What perfects the nature of a fish will not perfect the nature of a human being. This much is clear. So we must not assume that God is perfect in the same sense that man can be perfect. If God is perfect, he must also be perfectly good. But a perfectly good being will also be one who is a being capable of perfect love. Now, what is the object of our love if there is no objects at all? Or, could we be the kind of being we are, if being, like God, capable of perfect love we have nothing to love? How could we act in accordance with our nature if we could not even exercise it? If there is nothing to love, it cannot be said that God is perfectly loving, for again, if there is nothing to love he has never loved anything. So if God is to be perfectly loving, and hence be the kind of being he is, it is proper for him to create things which he can love. This he has done. Hence, Christ has said "No greater love than this: for a man to lay down his life for his friends." In this God shows what kind of being he is.

A perfect God can create only a perfect world. How can imperfection come out of a perfect creator? Then there is no possibility of evolution. If the possibility of evolution is accepted, then the world, the creation, is imperfect and ultimately it will lead to the logical conclusion that the creator is imperfect.

No religion has dared to declare that God is imperfect, but I declare that God is imperfect because imperfection means evolution, imperfection means life, imperfection means flow, growth. And God is infinitely imperfect; he will never become perfect. The moment he becomes perfect the whole existence will disappear into nonexistence.

But because of this idea of a perfect God we have all been trying for centuries to be perfect, and there are two outcomes of it. One is: if you are simple, innocent, you will start TRYING to be perfect and you will go neurotic. And you can never become perfect, hence you will carry a mountainous burden of guilt. It will crush you, it will destroy all your joy in life, it will poison you. It won't allow you to celebrate, to sing, to dance. It is suicidal. Or if you are not innocent and simple, if you are cunning and clever, then you will become a hypocrite. You will talk about perfection; that will be just a facade, a mask, and hidden behind the mask you will go on being whatsoever you are.

Both are ugly phenomena. Going crazy, becoming, neurotic, guilt-ridden is ugly; becoming a hypocrite is ugly. But your so-called religions leave you no other alternative: they all talk about saying yes, but they all teach you saying no. They all think they are theistic -- they are all atheistic, because to me atheism means a deep-rooted no and theism means a fundamental yes to life. Theism has nothing to do with God, nor has atheism anything to do with the denial of God. Theism is saying yes to life with all its imperfections, as it is, saying yes to it with no conditions, with no strings attached. And atheism to me means saying no to life as it is and trying to make it better, trying to make it perfect.

Perfect cannot die and does not suffer under the law of entropy. so that means something strange had to happen in order for things to become unperfect. God wasn't compel to seek out the disunity for his creation. who in his right mind would seek this out, would you seek out the destruction of your family? but your family members can make things a living hell for you, you wouldn't want your family members as robots, do you? so it became unperfect when man choose not to have God in their live.

Bad complexity. It's complexity. It's perfect complexity. Disequilibrium is complexity.

God is Perfect. NO mater what you think of him. If he think it best to make the world the way it is today, then he's right.

Perfection could encompass omniscience and omnipotence. He could and would want to create because he can. just as easily as he could not. he willed to have a desire, that desire may have given rise to an idea and that idea could be us. All because he can and his volitional will allows him to create, so he did.
