What do you think of Paternoster Square, St Pauls?
I'm interested in the history of Paternoster Square, and visited the area last week. I liked it, and compared it with an aerial view taken around 2001 which showed the older 60's office blocks. Do you remember what Paternoster Square was like in the 1960's, or before it was bombed in the war? Do you remember the TV series from the 1960s that was made there?

I prefer the new one. I worked near there back in the 90s and the old 60s office blocks were pretty soulless and depressing to walk past. The only thing thats still there from the old development is the bronze statue of the shepherd with the sheep.

The new Paternoster Square next to St. Paul's Churchyard is spectacular and impressive. But you wait until you go inside St. Paul's Cathedral - just breathtaking.

It's never been pretty, but did they have to make the place so damn modern given the historical value of the area?
If you knew my city (st Paul's is not far from my home) you would perhaps understand why Prince Charles wanted the place to have a more Georgian look to it.
For once I agree with him.

I particularly like the columns with the figures mounted on top, but other than that, not much more.
