The TRUTH is this:

If the pilots were armed before 9/11, the World Trade Center would still be standing.

We would not have gone into Afghanistan.

We would not have gone into Iraq.

There would not be recordings of passengers planning to "rush the cabin" right before their death.

Many more would be alive today.

All... not some... but all US Commercial Pilots served in the military and of course were trained to fly and carry pistols during their service.

Obama is starting to prove time and time again he does not have the ability to protect the USA, much less fix the economy. No surprise here at all. He has no experience. If you need a community organizer, he would be a good one... probably just average, but better than one without experience.

No he doesn't and stop the gun thing. I have been hearing that we are going to lose our guns for fifty years and I still have mine and have no fear of losing them. There were over 13 million gun permits issued last year alone so it would be quite the undertaking to even think about. I had a call from the NRA last week for a survey and when I didn't agree they told me they didn't want my opinion and hung up so don't believe everything you hear from them either.

It's not about "disarming people". Pilots can own all the guns they want. They just can't bring them to work.

And he knows the terrorists haven't decided to "play nice". Numerous steps have been taken to improve the security of air travel. The cockpit is sealed off from the rest of the plane. Armed Federal Marshals travel on random flights. Airport screening has vastly increased. For crying out loud, my grandma has to take off her shoes!

Oh, and in case you weren't aware; guns aren't the answer to everything.

EDIT: Needing pilots to carry weapons is tacit admission that every security protocol put in place by Bush is a failure. If that's the case, why have the DHS? Just give the pilots Uzi's and save us taxpayers a few hundred billion dollars every year.

Also, I don't know if I like the idea of pilots with guns. I mean, if the situation has already reached the point of a pilot having to pull a gun, hasn't the security policy already failed? I don't want to end up in some bad action movie where the pilot has to abandon flying the plain to stop some terrorists. Let the flight attendants handle that.

You are forgetting what the obama administration has told you.

1 - No War on Terror

2 - No Enemy Combatons

3 - Stopped trial for terrorists

4 - Closing detention camp

5 - No Terrorism - just man made disasters

So in obama's mind, why do we need to worry about anything, obama made all that is bad go away by changing the name.

Obama is trying to disarm the pilots because he fears an armed citizenry. He has a plan to disarm the citizens to convert them to subjects. This is just one step of his master plan. It has nothing to do with terrorists nor correcting any "problem" that has occured with armed pilots.

I agree with him 100 percent.

Their job is to fly planes and not carry firearms. There are United States Marshalls aboard these flights and they should be the ones with guns.

The liberal mentality is that there are no terrorists, and anyone who hijacks a plane is just a misunderstood individual. We need to know why anyone would hijack a plane first, and knowing will make it dissapear. The research may take a billion years or so but the actual hijackings don't matter so much as long as we're researching why they happen. And while we're seriously thinking about those sort of things, money that would otherwise be used by the military and the CIA can be spend on government programs to make people more dependent on them.
