i'll give you a start with gibraltar and the canary islands as examples

canary islands is wrong, that's spanish but I know Gibraltar and the Falklands and Bermuda and ummm Saint Helena?
edit - To guy down below - Gibraltar IS British, I went there a couple of weeks ago. You need a passport to get from spain in to Gibraltar and all the car number plates have GBZ on them (Great British Zone) they would have had GBG (Great Britain Gibraltar) but Guernsy has got GBG. All the signs and everything there are in English. They do drive on the opposite side of the road from us, but that's only because people going from Gibraltar to Spain and vice versa got confused and there were car accidents so they switched it to the right side, not left. They love The Queen because she's a link to GB

Falklands, South Georgia, Ascension, St Helena - apart from Gib, which you've named, not much else these days.
The main reason is that colonies cost - the Tories were trying to sell the Falklands to Argentina for some time before the invasion.
If a local population wanted independence after WWII, the FCO were only too glad to encourage them. The penguins, gannets, sheep and Falkland Islanders, however, God bless 'em, remained stubbornly unreconstructed, so that there remains just a little red on the map to this day.

Isle of Man/Channel Islands are Crown Dependencies.
British Overseas Territories (which the UN recognises as colonies, because they are on the list of non self governing territories maintained by the special committee on decolonisation) include: British Antarctic Territory (research use only - no civilian population), British Indian Ocean Territory (military use only - no civilian population), the British Sovereign Base Areas (military use only - no civilian population), The Falkland Islands/Les Malvinas, Montserrat, British Virgin Islands? Cook Islands?
Well there's a few in the Caribbean and one [or more?] in the Pacific/Southern Ocean that I haven't listed.
That's from my mind - it may be wrong...

The Canary Islands belong to Spain, not Britain.

The Falklands islands. "Sorry Argentina." There are no Colonies now, just British overseas territories

Montserrat - and probably a few others in the Caribbean
Ascension
St Helena
Tristan da Cunha

Gibraltar belongs to Spain so does Canary Islands !
The Brits are allowed to maned their base in Gibraltar but it went back to Spain over 10 years ago !
And by the way, "Falklands" is ONLY on English maps. The REAL name has always been Malvinias !
