You have to look google or on the web. You like to go out to the spots if you going like like them or not. Good luck to you o.k.

depends on the kind of fishing you are looking for, fly fishing I can't really help but there are plenty of stocked lochs around Glasgow and Paisley area, sea fishing though best bet head towards Ayr, depending on exactly where you are in Glasgow Area if you are willing to go about 2 hours drive head towards Loch Fyne, Gare Loch or Loch Goil all of which go to the sea so you will get a good variety of fish. If you fancy a weekend head upto Oban and the sound of Mull.
In the last week I have landed ling, pollack, thornback ray, dogfish and a blenny. By the end of this month it will be mackerel, colefish, and if I get out on the boat I will be going for common skate, spur dog and conger eel.
Inverary is about 2 hours from Clydebank and you will get colefish, pollack, mackerel there and if baitfishing a variety of flat fish.
I am only 10 minutes away from the sound of mull so it is not a problem for me. We often have folk come up and stay here and go out in boats or just from the shore.
Hope that helps.

without trying to sound like i'm starting up a fan club for Freebien she is so right but i would add that the river kelvin is £15 per year and castle semple loch is £14 per year to name but a few closer to home if you don't have time. im looking forward to oban to see if some of her luck rubs off, out for 6 hours at the carp pond in paisley and got nothing maybe time to hit saltwater to get my confidence up?

Hi
Loch lomond isn't that far away, and if you can't get a permit for there. There's plenty of other lochs around in the Trossachs national park.

I like Loch Lomand - spend some time there years ago and did well. Was quiet back then so you could enjoy the silence.
