Artificial telepathy - Mark of the beast?

Let's take these implantable devices one step further.  Rad this article on the latest technology for implantable electronics and teh potential uses being tested for broadcasting and recieving broadband information directly to the brain.  This beneficial technology will help victims of paralysis and other disorders to perform some tasks thtrough these devices.  What are your thoughts on these devices enabling direct communication via broadband between two individuals implanted with similar devices (a little more technology is needed, but that does not seem far off)?  What are your thoughts these devices could be utelized as the "mark of the beast" in your forehead?  Easily, these devices could be used to transmit information - biomedical markers - which are unique to individuals and may be an extremely secure form of identification.  I find it amazing how technology is catching up and enabling the scenarios in Revelation to be fully realized in a literal sense.  I use these technological advancements to debunk the idea that Social Security, credit Cards, and such are the "number of the beast," as some groups believe.  I think this "number" may be something completey different - which we do not have in our transactional systems yet.  Thoughts?

I will accept intelligent atheist answers, even if you consider this a hypothetical situation.  Trolls, hostiles, and wanna-be debunkers of God - I already know the basics of your answers, try to resist and don't bother answering.  I am looking for answers which are well thought out in line with the question with the belief the Bible is true - or at least hypothetically plausible.

We're using a form of artificial telepathy right now - using technology to communicate our thoughts to others over very long distances.  The only difference is our computers aren't implanted in our bodies.

Advancing technology has nothing to do with "end of the world" prophecies in ancient books.

the question is does accepting this technology result in you being damed?

the new world order is open to those who accept the mark of the beast, ony then will you be able to interface with the technology on offer

e.g. as if to say, you wont be able to go to uni school or open a bank account unless you have the mark
 
but i you did have the mark , then you could do those things, and hook up to the interent using your mind.


If there eisits a device to be able to do that now, then that is not the mark 

but more so, accepting th mark at a time when you can not buy or sell or take part in any activity from voting or anything else without it, thats the key

Could it be possible that this notion is totally false? I mean, a mark that is PHYSICAL, such as, a semiconductor implanted in your forehead or your hand. A good portion of Revelation is symbolic. Could this "mark of the beast" be symbolic? Keep in mind that Revelation talks about the "seal of GOD". Is that a "physical" seal? Or, is that symbolic, also?

Much more can be said.

I am NOT afraid of a semiconductor implant. It is JUST a tool to improve our lives, perhaps. However, when the TRUE "mark of the beast" manifests itself, you will KNOW what it is!

there is a lot of new technology that could definitely be used as 'the mark'.... 

Personally, I think we will be so familiarised with the technologies, that it wont strike many people as odd when thats 'the next big thing' (getting chips in your hand or head, etc).

Well, hypothetically, I would tend to believe that the number of the beast may be a number one chooses to wear, not one that is given to you based on something beyond your choice.  In the Bible, does it not say that people will identify themselves based on that number, not be identified by it?

Do not all modern Christians know (and classify themselves by) the number 3:16?  Does anybody else identify themselves by particular number they themselves chose?  No, our social security number are given, our drivers license numbers are given, are genetics aren't our own choice.  Only those who use John, chapter 3, verse 16, choose to identify themselves by a number.
