what type of stethoscope to buy for a vet?

Question

my girlfriend is currently in uni studying to be a vet. i was going to get her a personalised stethoscope as a gift however when i went to buy it i seen there are lots of different type like cardiology scope etc. what would be the est to get for a vet. I would hate to put all the effort in and get one she would never use

Yeap LIttman's the best. My friend's just got one and it's about 50 pounds. Furthermore there's range of colours and the seller might even give you a free engraving. I'm going to get one soon too!

For the most part, vets use the same type of stethoscopes as doctors.  Littmann stethoscopes are really good.  Those cardiology ones are very expensive and unless she's planning on specializing in cardiology, it's probably too expensive.  You do want to get one though that has a pediatric bell in addition to the adult one.  The pediatric bell is good for listening to cat hearts.

Get one made for vets.

I've always used Littman scopes for my practice (human).
