Intelligence says life came from somewhere. We have to take any theory on faith. Where does life go. That should be easier to answer but it is not. The only theory that explains hell existing comes from the bible. Meaning all other references to a hell contradict themselves when studied. The bible does not. I have studied it for a lifetime. It says what it says. And it speaks of a hell humans will burn in. Christians are the only ones who can claim a coherent plan out lining eternal damnation for anyone. I would have to give my answer from the bible. The christian one. No other group who speaks of any burning says it in a way that can not be dismissed. That being why Christians real christians are so disturbing. When it comes right down to it if you know your bible you know there is a hell. I can tell you have compassion because you reject anyone being rejected by a so called loving God. I would suggest that you open up yourself to some real exploration into is there a God who is love. When you find God I promise God will be alive and kicking and have been there all along. Then let God explain why hell and what God expects you to do about it. Great research bibles are out there. If you don't just trust me when I give this blanket diss to all other religions check them out. I did. I had faith and I pursued knowledge. The knowledge just backed up the faith that already exists. There is faith in you.

From my Christian view ingredient your first suggestion of Hell's eternal punishment in hearth is closer to my concept than the soul being burned and ate up after which being non existent. besides the undeniable fact that, that's all a remember of very own concept and that i'm particular there are a number of definitions of Hell among mankind.

Because you willingly rejected God. God isn't going to punish you for that, but by turning away from Him, you forfeit all that He has intended for you.

Just imagine that you were born a prince; in a way we all are.You have been kidnapped and raised by thieves. These thieves have convinced you that you are one of them, and that you have no real thrown to inherit. But to believe them or not is your choice.

Now the day comes when your Father, your King returns for His children. He gave you the chance to hold on to hope or to let go and accept your fate.

Is it God's fault that you didn't hold on?

And would it be right for God to force you to serve Him for eternity? Even if the alternative is for you to never know righteous, peace and joy? Hell is not merely a "hot" place; but a place where you will forever have to rely on your own abilities to get by; to scrape by. You think making a living is hard now, it won't be any easier in hell, but you will not be forced to accept God's authority over your life.

That's God's call, not mine, and not yours. He sets the standards, and He enforces them.

If He really IS God, He has the right to do so.

So instead of arguing over whether you LIKE the Christian view of God or not, you need to find out if it's a TRUE view. Because if it IS, you are in serious trouble, whether you like it or not and whether you agree with it or not.

That means you need to honestly examine the objective evidence, not merely decide you don't like the ideas. There is no objective reality in that.

I'm always amazed at people who think that God is whatever they LIKE Him to be. If He exists, He is what He is, and He does not answer to US.

If He does NOT exist, then none of this matters at all.

To have your awful sin and corruption exposed in the blazing purity of God's presence will at the least cause your conscience to burn in tormenting shame and remorse.

Your self centred and corrupt ideas of what is good falls lamentably short of the true goodness of God. When you see in His light then you will see and know that your ideas of good are in fact bad. So many stumble at this simple truth not knowing the extent of their sin.

Knowing this, God Who is love, has made provision for you to be cleansed and fitted for His presence by the power of His Spirit through union with His Son.

As He will not allow His Sovereignty to be compromised by your sin so neither will He compromise your sovereignty by His imposition. He will not force you against your will for to impose against a creature's inclination will cause unhappiness and His Kingdom is one of love only. Either He and all Heaven must change to conform to the sinful creature's inclinations - manifestly absurd - or the sinful creature must be changed to conform to Him.

For those who seek Him that their hearts may be changed and conformed to His, He will lovingly respond and He promises to all who seek Him with their whole heart that they will find Him.

He has proved His love and faithfulness in Jesus Christ and raised Him from the dead as a unique testimony such that only God can do.

If you do not seek Him your heart will be proved as rejecting His loving rule and preferring your own inclinations which will not conform to the glory of Heaven.

If you do not plead with Him to change your heart, again that proves your unwillingness and unsuitability for Heaven.

In that sense you take the responsibility upon yourself for God is willing and has done all to remove every hindrance and every barrier to your salvation.

It doesn't depend upon your belief or intelligence for He gives the repentance and faith essential for salvation and He gives the revelation of the truth.

So, if you seek Him with your whole heart He will do all the rest.

Your heart will be proved either way, either by your seeking or by your "waiting for proof" while you continue on in your corruption.

So, there is none who will have any excuse.

You won't, because there is no such thing as a literal "eternal fire". The Bible does not teach that anyone will burn forever and ever in a fiery "hell", and that's just how it is.

You do not have to go to hell. God has given you the answer and you reject it. Ask Him sincerely to show Himself to you and He will.

He gave you free will on earth, not in the afterlife according to the book.
