Hi i realllly need some help here. What are black bears nutrition in the fall? How does this differ from other seasons?

The fall diet differs from other seasons, because black bears are typically generalists, eating just about anything. But they distinctly prefer hard mast in fall. That is because of the high fat content of the nuts that they require before hibernation.

Historically, black bears prefered American chestnuts (Castanea dentata), but because of the decline on chestnut, bears prefered 
American beech (Fagus grandifolia). But those have been afflicted by Beech Bark Disease, but black bear still eat them, as well as acorns from Oaks (Quercus spp.)

The main food source in the fall is berries. It differs from other seasons because there aren't really berries in other seasons...
