what sort of food do i do for 100 people at a funeral (not hot)?

I had the same following my Dads' funeral about five years ago.

My solution, whilst you need to chat & not be too concerned about the catering was to arrange a cold buffet.

Big joints of beef, pork, lamb, with loads of stuff like potato salad, coleslaw, etc.

And employed one person to carve things up & serve them.

There were about 80 folks, duly fed & watered, with no fuss.

Serving a hot meal for large numbers is a nightmare, so avoid it.

In the Spice Aisle, Shilling's has a product: Salad Supreme...which is fantastic for a cold pasta/vege salad, of which you can add meat if you would like. I am certain you could use a rigatoni instead of a spaghetti for ease in eating.

I would have finger sandwiches.....You could have people make their own...tuna , chicken, egg salad,

A selection of cheeses, nuts and some sweets.

I often go to a funeral, serve them nuts, cold mashed potatoes in Styrofoam cups, juices, salads, chips, junk foods, cupcakes, etc. Simplified? Anything cold/dry except for dishes

Try Club Sandwiches, you can do lot's of different varieties.

Variety of dips and crackers with cheese.

Fresh fruit platters and a variety of cakes or slices and plenty of tea and coffee to go round, you'll probably find that most people will go for that.

You could do lunch meat trays, potato salad,mac salad. If you go to your grocery store where you shop, they should have some kind of pamphlet for you to look at with all kinds of ideas for trays of food. They will make it for you. All you would need to do is pick it up unless they offer delivery.

Keep it simple. Cocktail sandwiches and finger food. Cold drinks.

cake - either make a big cake then cut into slices or make/buy individual ones
