The wished spurt in confidence is useles; football for being a mass spectacle/fracas stands in need of highflight managers and players, even foreigners in default of Brit kickers. That's it, sad but true. The time of Bobby Charlton and Robson is over!

we had to win sooner or later, the players looked a lot better today modric and bentley played well and we could easily have had a few more goals. they were still a bit wobbly at the back. but teams like bolton always knock the high balls in to test the defenders.
