When the Rays beat the Red Sox Thursday night?

Regardless of who wins it in the NL, are they the favorites to win the World Series?

Update:

brettj66 - Hey man lighten up, have fun don't take it so seriously. This isn't life and death.....

Update 2:

The odds will catch up with Dice K, as they did with Lester. Lester couldn't maintain that level of performance(not many pitchers can) and Dice K won't be able to keep "pulling the rabbit out of the hat" with men on base and in scoring position.

The Rays WILL win Thursday night and WILL be the favorite in the Series. Is that appropriate?

The AL champion is going to pummel the NL champion no matter which two specific teams show up.

It has been this way for a while, the AL ascendant:

2007 -- Red Sox crush Rockies.

2006 -- Tigers pitchers suddenly forget how to play defense, hand Series to Cardinals.

2005 -- White Sox overmatch Astros.

2004 -- Red Sox crush Cardinals.

We have to go back five seasons, to 2003, when the Marlins humbled the Yankees, to find a genuine NL champion.

When? Lets not start counting chickens just yet...the Red Sox could easily get back into this series and Dice-K is just the man to get them there...it will be Dice-K (who shut out the Rays in game 1) vs. Kazmir (who was got rocked in game 2) so the pitching match-up greatly favors the Sox and they are still at home...I honestly still think the Sox have a shot at this series even if the odds are against them...that said, I believe whoever ends up winning the ALCS will be very slightly favored to win the World Series.

I would think the AL representative would be the favorite over the NL Representative in the World Series no matter what the matchup turns out to be. Remember, just because a team is the favorite doesn't mean they are going to win.

Dice-K has been "pulling the rabbit out of the hat" all season long. He's gonna do it again Thursday. It's gonna be up to Beckett in game 6 and Lester in game 7.

Dic-K will win Game 5 tomorrow!

and make it Up to Beckett and Lester to win it!

I believe that the Red sox can do it!

they overcome the odd before in 2004 against the Yankee!

and in regular season. They 2 in a row and come back to win like 5 in a row!

They will win the series and im hoping it will be Dodger! for the Nl to play against the Red Sox

Starting your sentence with When and not If, shows a lack of respect for the difficulty in actually winning a series. You make it seem like it's already completed and we just don't know about it. This isn't Survivor

I believe, regardless of who the AL participant is that they will have the upper hand over the NL participant.

    Is that appropriate?

In sports, there seems to be a team that, from time to time, is just destined to win it all. I think the Rays have that magic this year.

Quelle(n): Redsox fan. Hoping Dice can do it game 5.

Nope. I see the Rays winning the whole thing. Probably over the Phillies in 6.

I think the Rays will be the favorites if they beat the Sox. It doesnt look too good right now for us Boston fans. :( But, hey, ya never know!
