Would you want to be President of the USA?

If so, why? If not, why? With all the scrutiny of the press, the future of our country and others at stake, with the responsibility of making decisions that you know will cost lives, would you want to be President? Would you be up to the task? Do you trust yourself with that kind of responsibility? Could you handle the constant criticism on the news every night? Could you cope with never being truly alone and knowing at any given moment you might be interrupted with another crisis? How would you cope with making a decision that you know will be unpopular but necessary even so? We all joke about the President and many have forgotten (or maybe simply do not know) the reality of being responsible to the people of the United States of America and our commitment to the world in general. Would you want to be President?

No, I wouldn't. The reason is is that it's too much responsibility and is a heavy burden to bear! I couldn't handle it, I have to humbly admit. As president, you have to remember that, NO matter what decisions/choices you make, you'll never please everyone. You'll have negativity coming at you from both sides, between the press/media, the public, the foreign leaders, etc. I couldn't deal with all that, no. Just look at all the criticism and ridicule Bush is being put through, between the media and the country in general! He's getting it from all sides - and even getting blamed for things that he had nothing to do with - such as hurricane Katrina, for example??!! He got blamed for that, though we all know he's not God and didn't make it happen! He gets blamed and scrutinized for things he had nothing to do with - and I couldn't deal with that crap!

Absolutely not. Being the President of the United States is the hardest job in the world. Has anyone noticed how much a President ages during his time in the White House? I have and they all age so quickly when they become President. I admire the President for doing this job.

I would gladly take on and fix the damage what bush has done, it may take awhile but I would get the ball rolling, who cares about being popular as long as you know what you are doing, life isn't about the quanity of friends its about creating yourself. This country needs help to get out of this hole that we've been in. All this economic crisis with the shortage of oil and the rise of taxes and the stock market bail outs. All the environment green way of life, this all of this should have been takin care of in the 90's when we had time to convert over and save us, not when we have nothing to give and run out of money and hardly have no oil we are the United States of America we should be in control of everything, other countries should give us oil trade for protection. I certainly won't hide underground while the american people are struggling to make ends meet.

No thank you! no privacy- at least two secret servicemen outside the door even when your in a locked restroom or in your own bedroom.

would be a scapegoat being blamed for everything whether it was your fault or not.

even though the 200 grand a year for life even after you're out of office would be nice, it isn't worth the pressure you would be under for 4 to 8 years.

No, I would not... it would mean I would have to sacrifice my views to mainstream/two party politics and listen to other politicians who only care about how it would advance their ego and do not care about equality (economic, social) for the people. To become President of the USA is to lose some of your soul to lead a country that has done so much wrong in the world.

I would love to become President of the USA if it means that I can bring economic and social equality to all and that I do not have to sacrifice my beliefs of what is good for humanity in order to become President. And that there would be no need for a President... meaning I destroy the title of President and resign after everything has been fixed.

Ron Paul. He has a consistent voting record based upon the Constitution.

No thank you... that is too much responsibility for me. I think if I was that high up in government power though, I would want to be a senator. They do more than the president in general.

No, not anymore....but once upon a time. I believe you listed all the reasons why I would not want to be the President of the USA.
