Democratic Socialism: what are your views?
That is a multi-party system with free elections under a socialist, rather than capitalist, regime unlike previous single party socialist states.

Capitalism left to itself may tend to degenerate into monopolies, and to exploit the public to a degree far in excess to the benefit it provides.
But I don't think it's necessary or a good idea to eliminate capitalism. It's better to maintain public power to counter capitalist influence, breaking monopolies, maintaining standards for the treatment of workers, promoting unions and so on.
In this way the benefits of a free market are realized, without the abuses that would otherwise lead to resistance, violence, and perhaps the collapse of the economy as we know it.
This is the kind of policy that brought us to America's greatest period of widespread prosperity, in the face of communism.

Attempts to create such a state in various European countries have never worked. Socialism requires that the most productive and creative people get no recognition or reward, so there is no incentive to excel and the best and brightest tend to leave at the first opportunity for greener pastures. You should also recall that socialism is an economic rather than a political system, so there is no such thing as a socialist regime, only socialist economies.

I'm not sure what the heck you are asking. But as for "socialism" it's part of our and all economic systems. But what is socialism? I think it's a certain way of distributing wealth by the government.
In our country this is accomplished in many ways. If you become dissabled, the government will pay you dissability payments. If you are a large investment corporation and go bankrupt, the government will pay oyour way out of your problems.
Is this bad? Government of the people paying other people to be able to continue spenind into the public econom,y only means that the governem t (The People) are keeping each other viable. Now the The GOvernment - the people - keeping a corporation viable is a little sketchy becaseu the corporation is supposed to be "capitalistic" not "socialistic" at least in this country - but not in China.
So are we becoming more "Communistic" by funding our corporations?

I believe that the liberalism came into play after the great depression and was supposed to help the middle and low class get up on their feet. Now, we have liberals that want a handouts and don't want to work to make something of themselves. Look at Cindy McCain's father who sold his car and collected 10,000 dollars to start his beer distributorship and eventually made millions and became the American dream. This is what America is about. The democratic party wants a redistribution of wealth from rich Americans because they have a "victom" mentality.

One of the best examples that demonstrate the benefits of socialism is the American highway system. We all chip in to pay for it at the pump. Rather painless isn’t it? I imagine national medicine would be much the same.
If capitalism worked as well as some will have us believe, it would work equally well for the poor too. But as we all know, it fails the disenfranchised miserably.

im all for socialism as it aims to help everyone not just the rich. free health care is a great thing. recognising gay and lesbian couples is also good and i also strongly believe that a person should choose how they live their life not the government. also many right wing partys tend to have racist tendancies which isnt good

I am for democratic socialism though I highly doubt it will ever catch on in the US in this generation or many to come for that matter.

I don't like it. Take from the rich and middle class to give to the poor uneducated people who won't help themselves. They'll just continue to do nothing all day and expect more handouts.
