No, it isn't real, it's a scam. Depending on how dug into your system this adware/trojan is, it can be a real hassle to remove.

First, just to see how serious it is, run spybot seek and destroy from here http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000...

Remove the problems that it finds.

Second run adware se free edition from here http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2008/3000-8022_4-...

Remove everything it finds.....this is getting tedious i know but its all free. Install and run AVG antivirus free edition here http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Editio...

Then last but not least, if the problem pesists, run Hijack this from here http://www.download.com/Trend-Micro-HijackThis/300...

I will take some time and there is still a possibility that you wont be able to remove this from your system. I have had 1 instance where a client brought me a system with this problem after he fell for the scam and bought the program and nothing short of a reformat would fix it.

Good luck, i think combination above will work for you so long as you didnt allow their fake program into your system.
