Mom, how will you be happy in heaven?

Me: Mom, do you believe in heaven and hell.

Mom: Yes.

Me: Do you believe heaven is a place of eternal happiness and hell is a place of eternal suffering?

Mom: Yes

Me: Do you believe that since you're a Christian you'll go to heaven and that if I don't become a Christian I'll go to hell?

Mom: Yes.

Me: Do you love me mom?

Mom: Yes.

Me: Good. I love you too mom. But explain this to me. How will you be happy in heaven KNOWING your son, who you love, is suffering for eternity, and the god you worship in heaven will never let my suffering stop?

Mom: (no reply)

Update:

Robert, if it wouldn't bother you that your child is being tortured for eternity, then you must be some kind of monster.

Update 2:

So if our memories are wiped clean, what's the point of living this life? And are you happy to know the relationships you've made in this life will be insignificant in the next life? I'd be pissed to have my memory cleaned like that.

Update 3:

Healing Wings: Would you like to explain how I am riping into my mother? How am I being disrespectful? I am just asking her an honest question. I love my mother, and despite our religious differences I have the highest respect for her.

Update 4:

King James: It was tragic enough that those parents lost their children, it was horrific that you joined in the mindset that their fate was worth than death.

Good one. Kind of found myself speechless.

Thank you for showing that your mother loves you and that she acknowledges that she does not have the wisdom of God.

Out of respect for your mother and in spite of you dragging her onto this forum unbeknown to her, I will respond to this.

If your mother has redemption in Christ, she knows Christ. She knows that His ways are just, even if she does not always understand Him.

Did you expect your mother to fully know the mind of the Sovereign God? You don't even seem to know ethics but she's supposed to grasp the full concept of being in heaven with a mind that has been transformed into perfection.

She will delight in the Lord. her grieving for you is now but God will remove from her the sadness she feels now.

YOU are responsible for how you respond to Christ's command to repent and be born again.

How along the way did your foolishness and mockery of God become her problem? You won't accept responsibility for it but she is to be loaded down by it?

You don't want Christ's offer to remove your sin but you'll burden her with it.

Take a good look at yourself and ask these two things:

My mother says she loves me - but why?

The Bible says that God loves me - but why?

    Why indeed.

So......you own words have exposed you and instead of acknowledging your folly, you race to correct those that answer you.

Put your own retorts together and this is what you get:

You have the highest respect for your mother, the monster.

I'd say stop while you're ahead but you never were.

its quite simple; why does it have to be heaven or hell? what about right now on earth?! When you are a grown man, with YOUR own family and crib, who pays YOUR bills and does all that responsibility stuff?! OH Yeah iknow! how about in school, if YOU failed high school who's fault is it? You are free to do whatever with your life you want to go to hell and want your mom to cry for your?! That would be wrong!?

Shame on you for ripping up your mother like this on the internet. If she even had the decency to lead you one step toward God in her upbringing of you, you should have grabbed it with both fists. Honor your mother and father, a simple ten commandment. Shame on you for disgracing your mother this way! Get help!

    Revelation 21:4

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

Hell is hot, real, eternal and the land of the forgotten.

But as long as you have breath in your lungs it's not to late to turn to Christ and be saved.

I am a youth pastor and I have been to 4 teenager funerals in the past year. 2 of them were saved but the other two were not. The parents of the saved ones had the attitude of "I will see you later", but the parents of the lost teens just hung their heads in unimaginable grief. The greatest gift you could give your mother is to say "I accepted Christ as my Savior". That would end her tears now.

When I was 17 my best friend died in a car accident. His father came to me with tears in his eyes and asked me, "did he ever tell you that he was saved". I did not have an answer for him but he would have gave everything he owned to hear me say yes. Please give that gift to your mother.

Her memory will wipe out. But remember, while there is Life, there is Hope. Accept Jesus Christ while you are still alive and you will be welcome in the gate of heaven. People will not have their past memories in earth, but it is still their souls that is in heaven.

this is the Christian faith : all who doubt or denied are lost--living a good life ---helping others---caring your wife and children--are simply a respectable way going to hell .

Christianity is the most absurd religion I have ever seen .

This is not a question, but good point. However, according to Christianity, she would have forgotten all her past memories.

What are you trying to prove? That god is unreal? Or that you have yet another reason not to believe in him?

Personally I dont believe that Heaven is a place of eternal happiness. No righteous God should "force" happiness into my heart contrary to my intellect and reasoning.

But no amount of undermining Christianity will convince me that theism is an invalid concept that doesnt deserve consideration.

Ask yourself who is causing your suffering God or your constant worries about the condemnation about something that perhaps you may not believe in? People make things bigger in their own minds, no outside source is necessary to do that.
