Any Pennsylvania homeschool parents here?

I was curious about any problems you've encountered upon submitted your homeschool evaluator evaluation report to your local schools. My local school district's superintendent has singled me out by denying that I've met the requirements although my evaluator (a certified teacher) has said my son's work was above and beyond what is normally required. Keep in mind, this happened beyond the typical 30 day period as stated in Act 189 (?). I also know that we were singled out because I've talked to several other homeschoolers' parents from my district.

Update:

Here was my response:

Based on the Pennsylvania Home Education Law Act 169 of 1988, you had 30 days to claim James’ homeschooling program as inadequate. The original notice to you that I was intending to homeschool James was submitted on March 14, 2008 and his evaluator’s paperwork was handed in on June 3, 2008. By all legal standards, you are beyond either of those dates to lodge any complaints.

You can feel free to contact his homeschool evaluator, Marsha Hubler, if you have a problem with accepting her findings as to the quality of his education. Her contact information and credentials were supplied to the school district on June 3, 2008. You may also contact her through her website: http://www.marshahubler.com/

I do not expect to hear anymore about your perceived problems.

Sweetie I do not mean to point out any bigotry but do they know that you are Wiccan? They may have problems with this as some Christians think that anything other than what they believe is of the devil. The very same crap that started the "Burning Times". Just a thought...You may have a civil rights case on your hands. Peace&Love be with you my dear friend...~M~

Your faith should have nothing to do with home school but if the district knows you may be singled out by over zealous people. As with any faith Christian or otherwise. As a home school mom your faith is a non issue.

Are you a member of HSLDA? I know they are a Christian organization but if you are a member contact them. They will give you free legal advice and will represent you in court if need be. If not I suggest that you do join and then call them. It will cost a lot less to join them and get them to help you than to try to get your own lawyer.

As for your letter I think it was well written and points out that they are in violation of the state laws. If it was an issue at the time it should have been addresses immediately not a month or so later.

I wish you good luck and God Almighty's blessings in this case.

I would go find a good lawyer to begin to process all of this and find out if he can do anything for you. If they get the idea that they may end up in a lawsuit they make change thier tune. Especially if it is on religious grounds.

I like your answer very much, because you pointed out how you are in compliance with the law.
