I have a 1998 Suzuki Esteem station wagon & every once in a while it will stop running when it's idling.?
What is wrong with it? When it stops running I can restart it and it runs fine. What could be wrong with it and what do I need to do about it? My problem is that I live an hour and a half from any Suzuki dealership.

That will be your idle control. It isn't a huge job to fix but will require you getting it done by a mechanic. Not necessarily a Suzuki one though.

Most likely the throttle body is dirty and is open to wide to idle right, You need to get the Throttle plate cleaned and use top engine clean you can get this from a GM dealer they have the best. But if you don't know how take it to any shop that has certified ASE Mechanics they can do the job right and solve your problem. you don't need the dealership to get that fixed and it's not under warentay anyway. If you had a car that has a warrenty any certifed mechanic can work on it without losing the warrenty.
