i can't tell for sure but i think it is?
a man/women is standing in front of the pearly gates and st. peter
st. peter asks "are there any unresolved questions you have?"
the man/women thinks for a few minutes and asks "are zebras white with black stripes or black with white stripes?"
st peter says "well that is a good question but you'll have to ask god" then shows him/her to god
st peter says "ok go ask"
he/she asks god
god replies "they are what they are" and disappears
the man/woman asks st peter "what the heck does that mean?"
st peter replies "they are white with black stripes"
man/women asks " how do you know that?"
st peter says "well if they were black with white stripes god would have said . . . it is what it is"

i think it seriously depends on your view of racism.
To some, anything can be used as racism,
to others it must be a definite cultural slur.
personally I thought is was funny and I have several black and white friends, or if you prefer several white and black friends,
you see politically correct answers and questions are determined by the reader.

This joke would have been better if they would have made it a drunk joke instead of a racist joke. If anyone can remember the drunk Janet Jackson on the today show and her comment of "it is what it is." Then that would have made it funny. Presently, its just rude.
