What does true freedom mean to you?

I feel that true freedom comes from doing what is right-  someone said that is perfectly ok for Phelps and his church to picket a funeral of a young man that was killed in the war-  that freedom leads to death- when you know the truth it will set you free-  what they are doing is putting themselves in a prison that they will never escape from- freedom should be to build others up , not tear them down. What are your thoughts on this?

We can only know what freedom truly is when we know Jesus, keep His commandments, and walk in His ways. Freedom from sin, now there's a good one. Jesus destroyed the power of sin over our lives so that we wouldn't have to be its' slave any longer. 
We are free to live righteously, to live in right-standing with God, and we have the freedom to use our wills to help those in need. 
Just like the church in the book of Acts, we should have all things common with our fellow believers. Those with more than enough should share with those that are lacking. That applies for all things, food, shelter, clothing, money. Above all, we should share the love of Jesus with those that are hurting and lost.
Those that are looked-down-upon by society need to be shown His love even more.
Freedom is not the ability to do whatever you want with out fear of repercussions. That's called 'irresponsibility'.

Freedom! We only understand freedom in part at the moment Because we are flesh, and so Free-dom (free) to (Dominate) you own actions is how we see it now, Just imagine the freedom that Adam Had when he could tend a Garden that was as a country by speaking things done, Yes Speaking things done as he was empowered to do so, not to toil with his hands, which later he had to do due to sin, indeed Adam was made in the image of the heavenly Host! and so freedoms today are there but issued by either the Father which bring Peace, or issued by Satan which bring no peace only a desire for more which again never ever brings peace with there increase! Satan has none to offer, there is only one Prince of Peace. who wants freedom without Peace?

I think it helps to divide the question.  There is freedom from... Freedom from want, freedom from oppression... etc  and on the other hand, there is freedom to.... Freedom to act, and to help others, and to provide for our needs  Then on the horizon there is the freedom to allow others choices, and the freedom to complain.  I do think that the freedom we have in the Savior YAHOSHUA.... the freedom to do well. the freedom to help others  The freedom to participate in His love of His creation.... is the greatest freedom of all, and of course it is only through His love and ministrations that we enjoy any freedom.

Freedom to me is being in Christ. No boundaries or limitations in doing what is right and pleasing to God. No sexism, racism,poverty, wars, terrorist attack, rapist, murderers, and other isms.  Just Total LIBERTY!
