What´s the difference between an Atheist and a Pompeiian or Herculaneite?
What´s the difference between an Atheist mocking and hitting on Christians on yahoo R&S in 2008
and a Pompeiian or Herculaneite mocking and hitting on the geologist warning him off the eruption of the Vesusius in 79 AD?
"Pompeiinoid" would be "Someone like a Pompeiian" , like "Android" is someone like a man. The folks from the other town COULD HAVE been called "Herculaneumites", but I didn´t want to put them into the same pot as the other "xxxx-mites", although THESE were also fried, but not by volcano.
To be honest, on the intermediate run, nil.
Only that the Pompeiians or Herculaneites were innocent, some may have been even caught asleep.
Atheists will make an unique experience.

Well we've been doing it for millennia and absent a few entirely human-led pogroms in the Dark Ages (you know - that period when religion ruled the "civilized" world and as such was known for it's horrors and lack of progress) we manage to have avoided being burnt to death so far.

The difference is, the geologist used the scientific method, while the Christians use pure illogical belief, and have been crying the same tune for centuries.
