Intercessor?

Intercession in liturgical Protestant churches (as well as in the Anglican Church) is a regular part of the worship service, often spoken by one or more people with the congregation responding, "Hear our prayer." Protestant intercession is usually by the living and for the living, although many Anglo-Catholics and Lutherans share the Roman Catholic belief in the Communion of Saints (see above).

In some evangelical, Pentecostal and charismatic churches, the role of "Intercessor" or "Prayer Warrior" is believed to be a divinely appointed spiritual gift or ministry. The intercessor agrees to take on the burden of another; this kind of prayer is often an intense religious experience. Some well known charismatic intercessors are Joy Dawson and Cindy Jacobs. A notable intercessor in Christian history was Rees Howells, a Welsh minister about whom Norman Grubb wrote the book and later a DVD was made about his life Rees Howells: Intercessor.

Jesus is ever interceding at the Right hand of the Father on our behalf - we are to be like Him. I am an intercessor, I always am listening to what the Lord may tell me, my life is prayer. Intercessors carry the burden of the Lord and pray as He leads.

The life of an intercessor is a life style of prayer. They can pray over the long hall long after other people get antsy and want to move on. There is a stamina in prayer and divine strategies given by Holy Spirit for them. Word of wisdom and Word of knowledge and the prophetic are evident in a seasoned intercessors life. Pastors, true Pastors should also walk in this gifting for their responsibility is great.

There are many different kinds of intercessors, those who pray over the land, territories, cities, those who pray over certain people groups, neighborhoods, those who pray for the body, those who pray for the lost and multitudes more.

When intercessors say, Yes, I will pray....they have already asked the Lord if this assignment is for them and they are faithful to pray not just say they will. The intercessors are behind the scenes not a ministry that takes center stage or high profile and many times that's as the Lord ordains so their pray is often hidden from the enemy and man.

Authority from the Lord no from man is given to the intercessor to enter into the areas where God has called them.

Ministry first to the Lord is key for the intercessor then to know His heart in agreement with Holy Spirit to bring about the results the Lord desires.

all Children of God can be part of intercissory prayer, pray for others..... healing, blessings, miracles...... there are people however that are deeper into it and have a special *gift*..... these people fast and make intercessory prayer their top priority !!! go in peace..... God bless

To intercede is to step in for someone.

Intercessory prayer would be like praying for someone to get healthier or something along these lines.

I dont see why it would be something that only certain people can do. If you know how to talk, you know how to pray.
