Peugeot 106 Fuel gauge not working ie showing empty?

After checking the fuses, if thats not the problem, it might be worth checking the top of the fuel pump that is fitted at the top of the fuel tank. A wire might have disconnected or the fuel pump might have packed up. Or it may be that the float inside the tank is stuck. Needless to say there may be many reasons. Another reason it is showing empty is that the fuel gauge in the dashboard is faulty

The fuel gauge fuse? I think it is number 1 or 2. 10 amps?

Peugeot usually puts the fuel gauge on the same fuse as the white reverse lamp, warning lamps for battery charge, coolant temp, oil pressure, brake system,....

Are any of these other things OUT? Many warning gauges come on for a second when you first turn the key on. Try turning key to first ON position, and see if warning lamps work, and fuel gauge rises?

plausible faults - gasoline point sensor (variable resistor) or the plastic drift in the gasoline tank. observing your case, in all possibility the drift is jammed some how, which then no longer able to various the resistance resulted in the gauge no longer able to show gasoline point from a definite point and decrease than. answer: ultimate to change the entire unit. because it concerns gasoline, it incredibly is a damaging section to artwork in, do get a qualified automobile electrician to alter it.
