Extreme Home Make-Over?
I used to be a fan of the show but, got tired of the people they helped. It seems to me the show rewards irresponsibility. They always seemed to help families who had more kids than they could afford. Or the orphans whose parents didn't care enough to buy life insurance and arrange for their kids to be cared for in case of a tragedy.
I know I sound cold and, while I agree those are sad stories, I'm not sure it's a good message to send by awarding them a hosue. I'd have liked to seen a show like: "This is John. He's worked hard and sacrificed his whole life. He paid his taxes and has fully funded his children's college savings accounts. We like to reward that behavior and are going to send him and his family on vacation while we build hima great house."
Am I the only one who questions whom the producers choose to reward?
To Brutus, it has to do with business and FINANCE. People who squander or don't care for their finances are rewarded by a TV Game Show.

I actually agree with you my fiance and I talk about this all the time. I understand these families have come under hard times but the times wouldn't be so hard if they had been at least somewhat responsible and didn't have 6 kids rather than the 2 they could afford. It almost seems like if there were 2 families with the same situation they'd choose the one with more children maybe because they'd seem more desperate. What about the people who are responsible and still struggle day to day but are at least smart enough to not have an exhoribidant no. of children how come they don't get help? Don't get me wrong there are some heartbreaking stories and I disagree about the orphans with you but for the most part it does seem like irresponsibility is rewarded.
