The Bible says it is...?
I answered a post with the headline that I wrote above.
Ya know, my 7 yr-old daughter asked me, "Daddy, how can people not believe in or love God? It is the easiest thing to do."
The quiet, astute thoughts of a believing child right?
I have often, since then pondered that question. Then I look at the answers that some people post about God. Like they are offended or something when someone brings Him up (In a religious & Spirituality section).
I see it. I don't understand it...but I want you to know that every night my daughter prays her heart and says (word for word), "God I pray for those people who don't believe in you"
Heaven is real...sadly, so is hell...the Bible calls it eternal torment. You should be afraid. Because even the roughest and toughest will know too late...and weep
What are your thoughts...I already know how the ones mentioned above will answer...what about the rest of you.

Well, I'll take what your 7-year old says over some of the so-called thinkers here on Yahoo! BTW, my 8-year old daughter said much the same thing.
1 Corinthians 1:21
For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
Matthew 18:3
“Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven."

Hey, here are my thoughts. I read the bible. Some stuff doesn't make sense, some stuff does. Then, when i was older, i thought about where the bible really comes from. It is supposed to come from men through god. I know that i cannot trust men. I also know that most people are not going to trust someone today who says that god is speaking through them, so why do we trust these men? After much thinking i came up these beliefs. Christianity and the bible is just another religion. It tells you general life lessons, but it also limits what you can think and what you can do. It limits you from real free thinking by telling you that you will go to hell for having those thoughts. That doesn't sound like a loving god to me. When you look behind the scenes and lose your fear, it really isn't too hard to figure out. What you come up with after that is the fun part. I encourage you to really think about and question everything.

not like i don't respect your beliefs, and I think i speak for many people. what i don't understand is that why do people close their minds to possibilities? I'm 13, and I have no religion, but what if the JEWS are right? or, what happens when you die, and wake up the next morning a fox? what if there is no hell? I mean, I am open to the possibility of hell, heaven... but what if you prayed to god your whole life, and were a terrible person? What then? or, what if you never believed in god, and you were a very good person your whole life? what then? (did you expect that answer?) =P

Awwww! That's very sweet! I'm sure your daughter is a wonderful little girl. I love kids!
But she hasn't grown big enough or smart enough to consider the alternatives. Children only believe what they have been told; they know no reason not to believe it. It's very easy to teach a child something wrong! Like that the stork brings babies, or that a man lives in the moon, or that Jewish people kidnap little Christian children and kill them to use their blood in secret ceremonies.
Jesus said 'You must be as little children'. What exactly does that mean? Does it mean that you must believe without doubt, never consider other views? Do you think that's really what God wants from us?
I admire your little girl's faith and I don't mean to sound like I'm criticizing you for teaching it to her--you could have taught her much worse things. But seeing your own views reflected in your 7-year-old doesn't prove them true or valid, it only proves that your little girl looks up to you and believes what you tell her. And -that- should give you pause. It should make you realize what an awesome responsibility it is to raise a child and that you have to be careful what you teach them, deliberately or accidentally.

God bless you Mike M. It is truelly sad how non Christians behave here. Mean spirited and stir up dissension.
""""judge not that yea be judged" """
This is the most misunderstood verse in the bible. Lets temper it with this one.
1Cor5
9I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— 10not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.
12What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you."[b]

Humans created God. They did this because they are uncomfortable with not knowing the answers to questions like, why are we here? Where did we come from? etc...
The truth is, there is no answer. The bible is a bunch of hogwash written by humans.
Religion is brainwash. It's not fair to brainwash your kids. Let them be free thinkers.
Maybe there is a God, maybe there isn't. But no one really knows.
Peace, love, compassion - that stuff we do know -teach that.

It makes sense to her because she's grown up with it and that's her reality. Many people have a different perception of reality.
And its not easy. It may be simple, but it is definitely not easy.

I agree. Heaven (thank goodness) is real, but so is hell. It's scary and I'm afraid of hell so I just try to remember that, and try to keep on the path to Heaven. I pray for those people everyday.

"Suffer the little children to come unto Me for such is the Kingdom of God". Out of the mouths of babes, His Heart does Speak! God Bless your precious little one and may they continue to pray for those out there! <')))><

Psalm 103:13
As a father pities his children,So the LORD pities those who fear Him.
Matthew 19:14
But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
