Second one. (2e-2f)(2f+8) means that you take 2e and multiply with first 2f, and then +8. then -2f*2f and then -2f*8.

You can not add 3a4 with 2a2. All those that end with the same exponential can be added, but no messing in between.

3a^4*-2a^4 = -6a^8. Why? Because it would look like this if you broke it up.

3*a*a*a*a*-2*a*a*a*a

Oh! well the first one is quite simple all you have to do is combine the like terms such as 3a4-2a4 and -2a2+4a2 and -10-2 and then put them together so you should get a4+2a2-12! then for the second one, you have to distribute (2e-2f)(2f+8) first you would multiply 2e by 2f then multiply 2e by 8.
