If you could recruit someone for President... Who would it be and why?

Other than the current choices that are out there.

    Well...Condoleeza Rice...

    "Storm'n" Norman Schwarzkopf (sp?)

    Colin Powell

A government of all three would be heaven indeed!

I'm not looking for anyone in particular. I want to "recruit" a platform, not a persona.

I want someone to talk about judicial activism. I want someone who thinks that the Supreme Court has screwed up far too often, struck down too many laws, gotten themselves involved in things which they are not supposed to get involved in. I especially want someone who complains about both Roe v. Wade and Bush v. Gore, not just one or the other.

Currently, Alan Dershowitz is the only person I've heard of who says that the Court was wrong on both of those occasions. But I still don't want Dershowitz.

No one famous. Let's take the American Idol factor out of it.

Someone with executive experience ... someone who has run a successful international business. Overall, someone who doesn't want the job but will do it anyway.

    Kinky Friedman.

Why? Here's his answer to the issue of gay marriage when he ran (unsuccessfully) for governor of Texas:

"Gay marriage? Sure. Why not? They deserve to be as miserable as the rest of us."

Now THAT is putting realism ahead of political correctness.

And aside from all that, having a president named "Kinky" would tend to squelch lots of pointless arguments even before they begin.

General Norman Schwartzkopf - without a doubt one of the most courageous men of honor of this or any other century.

I assume I can only pick people that are alive. Hmmm. Arnold Schwarzeneggar for obvious reasons. Schwarztkopf (sp?) maybe.

I like John Steward as Pres.. and Stephen (or Steven) Colbert as vice...

they both seem to look at any "idea" with a critical view. which is what we need.
