How come elevators in buildings with more than 15 floors doesnt have the 13th floor?

Buildings with more than 15 floors usually skip the number "13" on their elevators because of superstition. They would either count the lobby as the 1st floor, or the second floor as the 1st floor, or just not label the number "13" on the elevator at all. This is normal with almost all tall story buildings

I think this is a western thing. 13 is considered unlucky there are some theories about this. In asia it is not the case. In South Korea many buildings do not have a 4th floor. Something about the number 4 looking similar to the Chinese symbol for death. Also superstition. In some buildings the floors will read 1,2,3,F,5,6. Sometimes it would be 1,2,3,5,6 ... Either way 13 or 4 or whatever it is kind of silly. Even if you don't call the floor 4 or 13 it is still the 13th or the 4th from the ground.

Changing the name from 13 to 14 doesnt make it the 14th floor. If its the 13th its the 13th. Higher class hotels deal with a higher class of thinking people who do not worry about some stupid number like 13. I find the number 13 lucky actually. Any idiot that is worried about a 13th floor probably cant get into a high class motel. Maybe they can get a room at a mental institution for obsessive compulsive disorder or psychosis. Maybe on the 13th floor of a hospitol. lmao.

That's exactly it. Superstition. Some people refuse to work or stay on a 13th floor of any building. Kind of nuts, sure, but that's the reason.
