Career as a certified mediator in Texas?

I'm not sure if a paralegal can do mediation with certification, but it may be worth looking into. I've heard, however, that paralegals generally need a bachelor's degree to get a job with that title. If you are solely looking into a career as a mediator, it may be somewhat different as to which degree level that one gets although the high the degree level, usually helps one to become more marketable. How about looking into some courses in conflict resolution. Some municipal buildings need volunteer mediators such as for child custody disputes, and I presume that they provide the (most likely brief) training to work as a volunteer. I would call your local municipal bldg and inquire about it and the credentials needed.
