Plastic plate in Microwave?

Question

If you heat up your meal on an ordinary plastic plate that's not labeled as microwave safe, will it be unhealthy to eat your food. And what will happen, I mean what would make it unhealthy to eat?

Chemicals in the plastic may contaminate your food when they are heated up.

It is not unhealthy, any plastic plate regardless of the material or ability to be microwave safe is safe to eat off of. Any plastics material which comes into any contact with food must be FDA approved.

I don't think so, you should always use glass and cover with a paper towel. I received an email from a friend that said "the plastic is changed and leeches harmful chemicals into the food". This also went for those water bottles that are frozen. If I could find it I would have sent it to you. Hope I helped.

If you are talking abt just plastic,I wouldn't. Plastic will melt into your food. Melamine should be ok.
