Help mucus is driving my boyfriend crazy!?
For the last five months or so my boyfriend has had some crazy throat issues. The first doctor he went to said it was acid reflux and gave him some pills that didn't work that well. Then he recommended him to a specialist, who performed an endoscopy, and he said his throat looked fine and also gave him some acid reducing pills. Well those pills seemed to have worked at relieving the uncomfortable feeling in his throat, but now he has another issue; he has to clear his throat of mucus like all the time. He's tried mucinex, but it didn't seem to work that well. He's told his doctor about this, but he says it's not a major issue. My boyfriend is going to get a third doctors opinion, but in the mean time can anyone recommend anything to help with the mucus. It' s stressing him so much, which means it is also stressing me because it hurts to see him like this.

Until he See's the Doctor he can try drinking hot drinks, like coffee(decaf) and tea with honey to relieve his symptoms.
Have him avoid Milk and heavy creams as they make the mucus build up.
You don't want to give him any medication that may mask the symptoms or condition when he goes to the Doctor, so be careful about that.
Has he seen an ENT(Ears,Nose and Throat Doctor) ? Sounds like post-nasal drip.
Post-nasal drip often leads to a sore, irritated throat. Although there is usually no infection, the tonsils and other tissues in the throat may swell. This can cause discomfort or a feeling of a lump in the throat. Successful treatment of the post-nasal drip will usually clear up these throat symptoms.
It could very well be coming from his acid reflux too and unfortunately there is no quick fix for it. He can try taking Gaviscon extra-strength liquid, that helps me quite a bit.

He should stay away from milk and stuff because sometimes that makes the mucus build up

5 months? have him schedule another appointment with his doctor. he may need a referral to an allergist.
