Religious Ethics. Encouraging/supporting the underaged?
I've noticed something in R&S and have aconflict in ethics.
I've seen a number of (apparently) under aged questioners asking heartfelt questions about their chosen faith. They have obviously already made decisions to do with their faith, and not been 'seduced to the 'darkside' (etc). I then see Fundementalists attack these kids - falsely warning them about Satanism, making vailed threats of their mortal sole etc. Basic scare taticts.
My question is is it ethically correct to report "abuse" when the Fundementalists honesetly believe that they are morally obliged to make these threats?
I see it as a violation of a child's human rights.

I agree.
Children are very good at makeing their own desissions in life and it is up to adults to help them not attack them. I personally try to help them as much as possible.

Everyone has freedom of speech, no matter how "objectionable" it may seem to others. A violation of a child's human rights would entail physical harm or severe mental scarring. I don't think that name calling in an open forum on the internet is classified as violating the human rights of a child.
Hopefully ridiculous speech by these fundies will teach kids that this world is not perfect and that their are some pretty ridiculous people out there.

We all have to find our own path to walk on in this world. And trying to stop a person doing this no mater their age is akin to violating their human rights~ Yes of course!
Children have a right to the truth as much as an adult.
Children have the right to research their own beliefs not just blindly accept the ways of the parent.
Children have the right to be treated with respect~ something many xians forget!
Children who are doing this should be praised not attacked!
After all is that not what we raise them to do....use their brains?
Blessed Be!

I see brainwashing a child into a religion before the child is old enough to think critically a violation of the child's human rights.

If they're asking questions, they're on the right path to filtering out most of the B.S. they hear from Fundies anyhow.
Plus, it'll wind up having the opposite effect. Many adolescents rebel to assert their independence, so saying something's "OHLAWDTHEDEVIL" is only going to make them want to look into it more.

I generally find attacking a questioner asking a sincere question rude, regardless of age.

I wouldn't consider that abuse. You *say* they're "false" warnings, but that's just your opinion. These people have a different opinion, and they should be allowed to state it. If you don't agree with it, feel free to state why you disagree.

They ask a question here, anyone here has a right to answer. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Or best yet, get saved.

first, a rewrite "some fundamentalists"
sweeping generalizations are rude and unnecessary
and yes if you sense abuse report it.
