What is the average pay hourly for a cook at Denny's?

I was filling out the application to work for dennys and on the bottom it asked how much I wanted to get paid.Im not sure how much the job is worth yet and i dont want to ask for to much cause then they wont even look at my application again.I need help. About how much should i be working for. Im a pretty damn good worker i stay on my toes and im very good at keepiog pace but im pretty sure the managers dont know this yet and i didnt leave my old job with the best impression what should i do? please help anything will do

I would also write negotiable. im an employee of Denny's and I know that their hourly wages differ depending which Denny's your applying at their pay rates depend on demand and the economy in that area. Denny's is a wonderful place to work with lots of benefits and career advance opportunities so even if the starting pay isnt what you expected just remember your pay rate changes after your 105 hours of training....

I would write negotiable.  Especially with dealing with chain restaurants, unless you have some kind of above and beyond qualification, there is a standard starting wage.  They will tell you what that is in the interview, and if it seems to low, either ask if that wage is negotiable, or when your first review and raise will be.

Cooks usually get paid about 8-10 an hour depending on their exp. Be confident!!

It actually depends on your state.   Each state has their own mimimum wage laws with rules and exceptions that apply due to age, experience, etc.   Call one of them in your state and ask them how much they pay their cooks.
