parking ticket appeal advice please only serious answers! particulary sections of law that can be quoted...?
in my appeal letter. I was parked in a pay and display area using disabled badges (blue badges) at 5pm the area becomes a loading area and you have 20 min to load and unload... however at 10 past 5pm i got a ticket from 10 past till 11 past. the paint lines are warn out... which i think i can apeal on if the road markings are incomplete however i would like a stronger argument before i put my appeal letter together. Also there is a book written by a retired policeman if any one knows its name - its about appealing parking tickets by using the law. I live London England! many thanks.

Don't listen to anyone who tells you not to fight. In the US it is actually very easy to get an incorrectly issued parking ticket overturned. Photographing the scene is the most important thing. I had a ticket for almost the exact same thing (a time issue on when it was ok to park there) and wrote to the parking authority to tell them so, but I forgot to include photographs. They checked and could not find what I was talking about (I don't think they actually checked). I was told I could come in and present my case. It took about an hour including travel time. Also, I remembered to bring the photographs. They decided that I was right and, had I sent the photos in with my letter, I wouldn't have even had to waste the hour to get to the court and back.

I don't know about how it works in England, but in America the best approach is to simply pay the ticket and not appeal. Although you may be right, it just isn't worth it to fight for the ticket. The odds of you winning are less than the lottery.
However, if you do fight it, best of luck and go get them!

Take photos of the lines and signs to illustrate your case. Bring these to court with you. Ask Tony Blair to be your lawyer, not Benny Hill.
