Is Jeff Gordon a Scientologist?
I thought I heard on tv a few years ago that Jeff Gordon is a scientologist. Can anyone confirm this? Or has anyone else heard this?
His religion doesn't detract from his driving ability at all. I am a smoke fan but will freely admit that even if jeff retired tomorrow he would go down as one the 10 or 15 best drivers in nascar history.
I cared enough to ask the question but
I thought I saw this reported on one of the "entertainment news" shows like Entertaintainment Tonight and they were trying to make a point that scientology is spreading quickly through the ranks of famous people. I don't consider these shows real news and since I follow nascar I didn't really believe it either. I thought the people here on answers would probably know the answer.

Unless he has drastically changed his beliefs, he is not a believer Scientology. If anyone can remember just a few years ago, after every victory, Jeff would acknowledge God before ANYONE. He always thanked him for the victory and the opportunity. He recently has not been doing this but I wish he would again. That is really why I began to like him in the first place.

And this matters......how? Methinks you're confusing Jeff with Tom Cruise, who did a lame movie called "Days of Thunder" about a NASCAR driver, and who is also a Scientologist (poor lad).
No, I don't hate NASCAR, but "Days of Thunder" was no more than "Top Gun" on wheels.

From what I understand, you can be whatever religion you want and still be a Scientologist. It is a way of life rather than a religion.
Does it matter? Will the Theitans (sp) get us?

Nobody said it mattered. Nobody at all, in any of the posts. However at his last awards ceremony he was introduced by Tom Cruise. Makes you wonder if he is. Not saying it matters so dont jump on that. Just curious.

I can tell that he is not a Scientologist, he is a Christian, I also work for Mr. Hendrick and can assure you of this. I also do not understand why this is of importance but hope that answers your question.
