How do I get rid of gnats???

I've tried everything!  I've tried the vinigar/dish soap remedy, it caught a few, but nothing compared to how many we have.  I bombed my whole house this week, and I swear they're taunting me! They were back with a vengance by the next day!  Bombing seemed to get rid of them for a couple months before, but it had no effect this time.  I don't want to use too many harsh chemicals, as I have a 5 week old baby, but I  can't even make his bottles without having gnats flying all around.  HELP!!!!!!

If you don't want gnats around, you have to cut off their food supply. This means fruits and vegetables have to go in the refrigerator or a bin the bugs can't penetrate. Make sure house plants stay damp, but not wet, and they must have the proper drainage. Gnats just love over-watered house plants. Empty trashcans regularly and don't allow rotting food to sit in the house. Make sure all trash receptacles and sink drains are cleaned thoroughly, and don't have any old rancid food stuck to them. Never let dirty dishes stand in the sink.

Have a professional pest control company come over and evaluate your problem. You may have friut flies, drain flies, etc.

Sanitation is the primary issue here. Don't take this the wrong way. Any amount of organic matter under the sink, behind the refrig can be a breeding ground for "gnat" like insects.

The baby should be out of the house for at least 2-4 hours after any pest control treatment is performed.

Get a small jar and place a piece of fruit in it.  Roll up a heavy sheet of paper so that it makes a funnel.  Place it in the mouth of the jar and tape around it so that gnats can not escape once they go into the funnel.  After a day or two, take it outside and let all of them loose.
