Nemo Me Impune Lacessit, is the motto of the Order of the Thistle, and means "No one (Harms, wounds, hurts, provokes) me with impunity."
It is an inscription found on the edge on many British coins. It was also on the royal coat of arms of Scotland.

So cops have now decided to include this on the black band on their shield in honor of fallen officers. Jesus, way to tell the world your pissed off and looking for revenge. Awesome. YOU ARE CIVIL SERVANTS and in choosing your profession you chose to demonstrate immunity to the stupidity of the world and rationality in performing your duty and keeping a level head. While I understand you are humans and mad about the way the world is, grief should never be combined with anger as this ignorant motto demonstrates. Take it off if you have any sense and simply use the black band. Get a grip on yourselves. The world is watching you!
