Is Burbank, San Jose, CA a safe neighborhood?

I am looking for comments on the Burbank neighborhood in San Jose, CA. Specifically on the area of Leigh and San Carlos. How would you categorize the neighborhood?

We are considering buying a house there and are not completely sure, since we have received conflicting comments.
