Wedding Ceremonies?
Has anyone ever had their ceremony in a graveyard? That's my dream wedding. What's your dream wedding?

Whoa, that would be cool! I don't think my husband would have gone for it, tho. LOL We had a pirate-themed wedding, which was a ton of fun - I have to say, that WAS my dream wedding. The aisle was lined with two rows of pirates on both sides holding cutlasses above our heads, we had a pirate minister, a flowerboy dressed as Bootstrap Bill Turner, a blackpowder cannon salute, and afterwards a night of rum and revelry. It was a blast! No pun intended. :)

Ask the person who will be officiating your wedding whether they can get permission to hold the ceremony in a graveyard. Many Christian denominations have strict rules about where weddings can and cannot take place, and the graveyard you like may be off limits even if your officiant is willing...but try, if that's what you want, you only do this once, so try!
I am having the entire bridal party, both men and women, wear 16th c (style-we're not period police here :D) Italian Renaissance garb for our wedding, it'll be fabulous! This is the one day when I get to be Queen, and I'm going to live it up!!! (it'll be cool to see my future husband as King, too!)
And to Sparkly-if you want to get wed beside the underground lake, do it as a renewal of vows, that way you won't mind that everyone can't come. The people who really want to be there will make it!

I don't intend to ever get wed. Getting hitched at a graveyard seems a cool idea, but I wonder if it's a bad omen to your wedding - and though I am not dead I am sure that if I'd haunt the graveyard I would take affront to a wedding taking place where I rest. You'll be hard pressed to find enough space to set up a wee stage and a few seats, and find yourself a priest too. Perhaps it'd be a better idea if you would get married in a church, and have a reception at or near the churchyard.

I personally haven't but a friend of mine performed a ceremony this past Halloween in one. Got special permission to be there at 11:30pm.
I would probably choose a destination wedding, someplace warm; sort of a mini-vacation for the few I would want there.

If you get married in a graveyard, I would love to do the photography!
I have never seen a wedding portfolio with a cemetary venue. How exciting!

Very Gothic, I like the sound of that. I wanted to marry in Cornwall, there is an underground river running through caves and in one of the caves you can have a candle-lit ceremony beside the underground lake, that sounds beautiful. Unfortunately we would have no guests if we did that as no one was willing to travel there and pay for accommodation etc, which is fair enough.

My dream wedding would be a destination wedding in Paris with just a few good friends.

my dream wedding would be in the UK, in scotland, at one of the old castles like the Eilean Donan on Loch Ness, or at stonehenge at sunrise.. of course they'd never get me to leave the castle, but that's ok!! ;)
