my son is a H.S. football player and wants to increase his strenght and recently found a supplment called?

gakic. it is suppose to increase your strenght by 10.5%. Anyway before i let him use it we need to find out some information. First of all does it increase ur muscel size? because i dont want him to look like a worlds strongest man. Secondly, is it ok for a 16 almost 17 year old kid to take something this strong? ive read about it and stuff but nothing seems to say ne thing about that or if it increases mass as well as strength.

thanks alot

    I've never heard of it.

The only supplement I've ever found that does anything is Tongkat Ali. This herb substantially boosts testosterone production with results that should be obvious.

The herb is used mostly for sexual enhancement. The dosage for that is usually 1 gram a day of 1:50 extract (50 grams of bark are used to make 1 gram of extract). It comes in stronger extracts but 1:50 is the most commonly used. For weight training, you use twice that.

There are no known negative side effects. Since tongkat ali boosts your testosterone using the body's own natural processes, you don't have any of the negative effects of steroids (quite the opposite). One side effect is that he will lose weight because of the effect the herb has on insulin metabolism (ie he will lose fat but gain muscle)

One major problem is the effect the herb will have a teenage body. He will be horny all the time. That means he will be on his girlfriend all the time. He will also be much more....ahhh, fertile. You need to watch your son and make sure he has it on the ball protectionwise or they're gonna be calling you grandpa. This is no joke. I'm deadly serious about this being a major negative downside you better take steps to prevent.

Anyway, there is only one legitimate source for the herb I know of.

    http://www.tongkatali.org/

There are hundreds of illegitimate sources of crap that does nothing. The above link is directly to the farm that produces the majority of the world's tongkat ali. They are in indonesia and it is a bit of a pain in the *** to pay them (use a bank transfer...email them for details). However, their shipping system is excellent.

All I can say is buy a bottle and give it a try. Take it yourself for a couple of days to prove to yourself that it is the real deal. Then consider if it is something your son might be interested in.

no, don't bother with gakic, having sold it for a long time trust me, no good, take my advise, supplements are a slippery slope, stay away and just use protein, that is what you want him to do, up his calorie intake, and workout as often as possible,

never heard of it but most supplements are bogus

good basic food, good solid training with proper teaching of how to lift weights and plenty of sleep are the best bet at his age!

please list the ingredients. I may be able to help if I know what I'm looking for... Ok; I just looked it up; it's composed of glycine. Glycine is an amino acid. It appears safe, as long as he follows the dosing & instructions on the label.
