Who can tell me a cheaper flight...?
We're a school class from Germany and we want to travel to Cape Town in South Africa next year.
Our travel dates are: 26-July-2007 to 16-August-2007, we are 24 adult persons (from 17 years to 45(our teacher)).
Our nearest airport is Basel Euroairport (EAP).
I've found already a flight for 1'022,72€ with SAA and Lufthansa, but this is too much for pupils. Is there anybody who can tell me a cheaper flight?

This is an awkward time to go because it is the middle of the School Holidays (by the nature of the trip) it is the most expensive time of year.
That is £687, I travel to SA a lot and usually only pay £450 from UK. Last time I paid £280 with Air France but that was May.
I travelled at that time of the year to Joburg with Yemenia airways for £320 from London when most were charging about £600, but it involved a stop over in The Yemen. I personally found it fasinating but it might be a bit of a culture shock for some of your group.
Is your itinary set in stone or could you go via Joburg as there are a lot of variations?
You could also see if you could part charter an aircraft. As 24 people should warrant a discount.

Be sure to check student discounts from Lufthansa and Swiss (now the same company?), as well as with any student travel agencies in Germany. I know Kilroy Travels specialise in student travel, but I don't believe they are in Germany yet. Kelkoo's flight search might also help.

You're probably looking at fares online. Try calling the airlines directly. Most of them have a desk dedicated to group travel, and they may be able to offer discounts on the purchase of a large block of tickets.
