This is also true when no chemist are available to purchase medicine to "stop" diahorrea, then cheddar or similiar cheese has an relieving effect.
Maybe it can cause constipation under normal conditions when eaten excessively.
Dietary problems and prescribed drugs are major causes of constipation.
Also, consider this please, the child may have a twisted bowel and in this case you really should consult your doctor.

I know alot of junk foods, like candy, cookies, chips, etc can cause constipation. Foods with alot of fiber will help relieve constipation

Improper protein digestion is the usual causation for this condition.. May want to try some papaya, added to their meals... is a protein enzyme.. Available in the fresh state or in pills. Should help much with the assimilation also.

food low in fiber contributes to slow digestion which can lead to stool accumilation in the colon then constipation.. such foods are: potatoes, white bread, and of course junk, candies biscuits etc
fruits and veggies, brown bread, digestie biscuits contain fibers... water is also important to flush out the accumilated stool, and make them softer to release..
