You normally keep 70-75°F when outside is 90 or even 100°F. Beside wasting energy, thus contributing to the ambient 90 or 100°F, this may be the origin of bronchial diseases. The temperature in the ACed areas should be only 7 - 8°F lower than external temperature. Humidity should be kept at 40% otherwise you get dry throath.

Most of it, sometimes you need to open a window, but most new buildings do not have windows, we have created an artificial environment where AC units run in the winter to remove heat and humidity from buildings. The real answer is a great amount of energy is wasted in everything we do, Look at the overall efficiency of a car, it's like 10%.

if i want the temperature inside to be 65% its not a waste, because thats what i want. and american capitalist technology has made it possible for me to get what i want.  i doen't waste energy, it uses energy to MY benefit.  if you don;t like it, go to turd world africa and sit in the heat with the other dopes who don't have electricity and freon compressors
