Road Trip along I-10!?
I am going to drive from Florida to Los Angeles via I-10 with my two dogs. How many days will this take me? How many miles can I make per day (stop every 3 hours, going the speed limit or a tiny bit faster :))?
Any suggestions for cheap motels along the way that allow two big dogs?

From Orlando to LA :
Total Est. Time: 40 hours and Total Est. Distance: 2,513 miles which gives you an average of about 63 mph including stops which I have found to be fairly accurate.
Try Motel 6 and Econo Lodge

If you are experienced at driving this distances, I would suggest you plan a route to stop any some of the many sites along the way and break your trip up to say 7 days.
It can be very boring and more importantly dangerous to push hard for that long as you will loose concentration after a while.
As far as your dogs just google for hotels that accept dogs, there a many wed sites for this and you may want to plan your route around some of the nicer ones.

That's a long ride! It will probably take you 4-5 days to get ther. MY GOODNESS! Be creful The Traffic on I-10 in Baton Rouge,New Orleans is pretty heavy preety much all day and night.It may take you about 1600 miles a day,depending on your stops.
