I recently decided to take up running but I'm worried about the effect it will have on my face.

I normally wash my face with a cleanser twice a day – once when I shower in the morning, and once before bed. I've noticed that if I use a cleanser more than that, my skin gets dry and breaks out.

I heard that it's good to wash your face before you work out because when you get hot and sweaty, your pores open up and all the bacteria and buildup on your face get in them. But I also don't want to wash my face before I work out because then I'll have to wash my face 3 times a day and it'll certainly break out.

So my question is... which one is worse for my skin? Cleansing 3 times a day or working out without washing my face first? What if I just rinse off my skin with water before I go for a run?

I've been looking for a crew neck sweater for a long time now. I finally found one, but it's for boys. It doesn't really bother me that it's for boys – I'm just worried that it won't fit properly. I'm an 18-year-old girl; my height is 5'4" and I weigh 110 lbs. I usually wear an XS in women's/juniors' clothes, so I don't really know what size to get.

My questions are:

1) Should I even buy this sweater?

2) If yes, what size should I get?

And just to clarify... it's not a men's shirt – it's for boys.

Ich habe ein Stipendium bekommen, und ich muss eine Rede auf Deutsch halten, in der ich mich dafür bedanke. (Ich werde Deutsch an der Uni studieren.)

Es wird formell sein, und wenn ich nur mit einer Person sprechen müsste, würde ich natürlich "Sie" sagen. Aber kann man "Sie" sagen, selbst wenn es sich um mehr als eine Person handelt? Oder soll ich eher "ihr" benutzen, obwohl die Veranstaltung eigentlich formell ist?

Hat jemand Vorschläge, was ich sagen soll?

ich fülle ein formular aus und da steht:

„In meiner freizeit...“

- „höre ich gern Musik”

- „treibe ich gern Sport”

- „halte ich mich gerne in der Natur auf“

- „lese ich sehr gern“

was ist der unterschied zwischen „gern“ und „gerne“?? wann soll ich „gern“ statt „gerne“ benutzen?

ich lerne deutsch und habe ein paar fragen, nämlich...

was ist der unterschied zwischen:

1) ändern und verändern

2) wehren und verteidigen

3) nutzen und benutzen

sie sind alle so ähnlich, deswegen weiß ich nicht, welches wort ich nutzen (oder benutzen??) soll :D

I am in 12th grade and do very well in school. I am starting to apply to top colleges and I am hoping to get into a few of them.

The only problem is that I do not want to live in the US after college.... I want to live in Germany. I have been there many times and I feel much happier when I am there. The language is not a problem for me.

I was just wondering if moving to Germany is a good idea. I know that if I stay in the US, I would get a great job and be able to support myself.... I just wouldn't be happy.

If I was to move to Germany, my US education won't matter and I probably won't be able to get a good job.

If it is a good idea, should I even apply to colleges here??

I would really like to go to Dartmouth and I think I have a chance of getting in. The only problem is that I would like to have a career in international relations, but Dartmouth does not offer that as a major.

My real interest is German, but since "knowing German" is not a career, I need to apply it and I think that the best way to do that is to study international relations.

Should I still apply to Dartmouth if they don't offer international relations as a major? If I major in German, will it still be possible to get a good job in international relations (working for the UN, etc.)??

By the way, I plan to learn other langauges in college (french, russian, and spanish)
