Western countries mark Easter. Some, as UK have 50 percent plus who don't believe.Should society keep a 2k old tradition with inconvenience ?
to normal life?
graphicconception, you make a good point. I make a similar point - the population needs collective holidays, it does not matter what they are called, Easter could be called winterend.

I believe most Christian festivals were arranged to be on the same dates as pre-existing feast days so only the name changed. Why get rid of that heritage?
Would you keep national holidays (if a word deriving from "holy day" is not a contradiction in terms)? If so, some might still decide to name them after something then you would be back to square one just with different dates.

Absolutely they should. Britain should fight to remain a Christian country because the laws of mathematics clearly show that Britain will become an Islamic caliphate within 50 years. Then how will you feel when some of your precious protected classes are being thrown off tall buildings?
