Former US presidents are entitled to lifetime Secret Service protection, do you think Donald trump will accept his?
The Presidents Protection Act of 2012 gives lifetime Secret Service protection, for ex presidents their spouses, and children under 16. I wonder if you think Trump will accept his.
Trump is still claiming Obama tapped his phones, although his own Attorney General and close ally Bill Barr announced they found no evidence of this.
He is now attacking the new administration and denouncing all those government officials, many of them who are Republican and government run departments as complicit in the "fraudulent election".
Surely if he really believes that all these people and government organisation are corrupt and are conspiring against him, he would not want to be closely surrounded by people for the rest of his life who work for such a corrupt government.
Surely he will put his money where his mouth is, decline government protection and pay for his own security needs?
He wouldn't be the first president to do so, Nixon relinquished his Secret Service protection in 1985, around a decade after he resigned, the only president so far to do so

The answer is yes. He will continue his practice of using his own properties to house the agents, and charge outrageous rent to the taxpayers.

Who knows what is going on in the mind of a president who hours ago said he loved the rioters, who he had incited who put the lives of his own Vice President and the whole of his elected government at risk.
What amazes me is that so many Americans still can't see that Trump has serious mental health problems.

Nixon didn't get it. However, in today's even more corrupt world he wouldn't have been forced to resign in disgrace over Watergate; everyone is at it. Trump, who will know far too much, probably needs protection so that he isn't compromised and ransomed by foreign agents

He is such a corrupt individual I would guess he wouldn’t want to get secret service so that he could carry-on with his lifestyle unfettered however if he did accept protection, I can’t imagine Secret Service men being dumb enough to take a bullet for him!

There is no way that Trump will deny his escort of armed Officers. Even a dumb asss like himself, realises that there are plenty of deranged people out there who'd love to see him dead.
