They hate it because it paints them in a bad light, white washing it ensures no point of reference for their enemies and no future point of reference to compare their actions to. Its political strategy and a strategy all Fascists gravitate toward… burning books, killing science and controlling information was the first move Hitler made upon entering Poland, America is comparable to this historic point reference showing the Dems for what they really are without this reference we wouldn’t see it coming! That is the purpose of all you are currently seeing from the left.

Democrats in general do not hate American History, they are conceding to the Black Lives Matter movement, who appears to feel that the removal of statues will change history, Bottom line is that nothing can change history.

US public schools stopped teaching history a long time ago and it's natural to hate what you don't understand.

They think preservation is the same as idolizing, they are the ones who make everyone think history is as evil as they say like when they compare confederates to Nazis.

There's a difference between 'preserving history' and glorifying it. The US educational system never looks at the dark side of these figures that we glorify, and only looks at what they did good.

Democrats don't hate history.
It's just that statues of bad people should be put in a museum, not in a park. If I put up a statue of John Wayne Gacy, the serial murdering clown, people would be naturally upset about it.
We don't put statues up to preserve history. That's what books are for.
We put them up to idolize people. Idolizing a slave owner is not cool.
