I sell in farmers' market. A main reason I do is to teach people interested in gardening what I've learned. I expect there will be a lot more interest in doing that this year. Today I planted 300 ft of snow peas; for the first time I had to rake off parts of it that had snow and ice first. I always wondered why they called them that. It was twice as much as I usually plant.

I will plant more stuff. I always have extra. One year I took a few boxes of my great tasting heirloom tomatoes to the county jail. Instead of slicing them, the cooks put 'em in the freezer to 'stew' them later. Gross! I guess they don't want prisoners to have anything good tasting!

I had to stop gardening a few years back becouse I could no longer physically, care for them properly. While some of it I have allowed raspberries to take over, I still have almost 1000 sq' that is still open. If the wife(who hates gardening) and the kid help, then I will grow again. I had flowers, vegetable, pumpkin path/gardens for thirty years.I used to just put boxes of vegetables out by the street for people to take for free. I do miss it, it would be nice to have a little something again.

Yes.
At the very worst I will have a surplus to share or sell and my food bill will be halved. At best at least I can eat.
My advice is grow what works well in your location, and only grow what you like eating.

The virus is not destroying food crops or sending transport ships to the bottom of the ocean. This is a logistics problem which will sort itself out in time. By all means grow your own, but not for the reason that there will be shortages.

No I’ll just buy what’s available.
