Imagine yourself in a large open space amidst a wood. There are trees all around you and no one knows where they end. With you are many people sitting, walking, talking, dancing...etc. In the center is a bonfire burning all the time.
Every now and then a few people go into the wood to explore. They come back saying the trees have no end to them, but there are other woods all around the wood where you all are that they were able to observe from a distance.
So the woods are galaxies; your wood is the Milky Way; the space between the woods is...."space"; and the bonfire is the sun.
Does this make you cope now?

Well, we first start with our home planet,,Earth. Earth is just one very tiny part of our solar system. Our solar system, just one tiny speck of many hundreds of millions of solar systems in our galaxy separated by many light years distance.
Now imagine our galaxy just a speck of light in a universe of billions of galaxies.
One awful big place

No one can *explain* the universe... it's gotta be *experienced*. Good luck with yours, and... try to enjoy it.
(None of us is getting out alive, so... give it your best shot.)

well there this thing called space with with rocks, gases, fire and other chemicals flying around all over the place, when some of them collide, it forms planets, stars and other weird stuff, inside the planet, when some chemicals collide, it forms water and living organisms, now this universe thing just keeps on expanding and expanding, just like how humans have kept expanding from having just 2 to 7 billion now.
